About

Gökhan Ünsel started in construction in 1998, in his final year at school, as a building draughtsman. He spent five years producing structural drawings at Erdemli Proje Müşavirlik and got to know AutoCAD inside out.

He completed a diploma in construction technology at Kocaeli University in 2006 and went on site the following year at Acıbadem Maslak Hospital. From then on, most of his site career was spent on hospitals. As renovation site manager for Acıbadem Project Management he ran works at Acıbadem hospitals in Eskişehir, Kocaeli and Adana while they stayed open, including an emergency department, a linac (radiotherapy) unit and a bone marrow transplant unit. He then handled valuations in the technical office at Memorial Bahçelievler Hospital, followed by site supervision and subcontractor coordination at Vadistanbul Liv Hospital.

Alongside hospitals, he looked after finishing works, quantities and valuations at Zorlu Center, the Istanbul European Side Courthouse and the THY Cargo building at Istanbul Airport, and managed campus renovations for Istanbul Medipol University.

In 2021 he founded Unsel Consultancy Ltd in London. Today he works with homeowners, landlords and estate agents on measured surveys, planning drawings, kitchen design, installation works and works inspections.
